Building A New Hospital for The Gondar College of Medical Sciences

Message from the GDCO Executive Board

Dear Friends of the Gondar College of Medical Sciences (GCMS):

It is our pleasure to invite you to be part of a major initiative to build a new hospital for the GCMS. In 2001, the Gondar Development and Cooperation Organization (GDCO), the Gondar Relief, Rehabilitation and Development Association (GRRDA) and the GCMS joined hands to launch a new project that would build a new hospital for the people of Gondar. On February 8, 2003 the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction was completed.

Many individuals as well as members of the GDCO branch organizations in different cities in the US have started to contribute to the Hospital Fund. Thus far we have raised over $120,000.00 and we are looking forward to increasing the size of the fund substantially this year. Our target is to raise another $100,000.00 this year from Ethiopians in the Diaspora as well as from friends of the people from the region and Ethiopian community at large inside Ethiopia.

The GDCO Board plans to make a concerted effort to approach many national and international organizations to contribute to this worthy cause. This message is for you and we urge you to be part of this very important campaign.

You can send your contribution to the organization GDCO P. O. Box 53336 Washington DC 20009 Payable to GDCO.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you profusely on behalf of the Gondar people.

The Executive Board GDCO.
